It can be a lot of work to keep facilities with large areas or elaborate flooring clean. Outsource some of your most time-consuming tasks! This way, your building stays clean and you can spend more time on higher value projects. Introducing the next generation of floor care: KIRA (Kärcher Intelligent Robotic Applications) floor cleaning machines.
Designed for fully autonomous use in real-world environments, you can rely on KIRA machines to get the job done right with minimal supervision.
The advantages of the KIRA family:
Efficient
The KIRA robots clean large areas reliably and without supervision. This not only saves time, but also manual labor. The latest technologies enable flawless cleaning that guarantees maximum customer satisfaction.
Safe
The KIRA robots are set to a safe distance from walls and objects. An intelligent detection system safely avoids people and obstacles. This means that more than 80 billion square meters can be cleaned safely.
Intuitive
Operating the KIRA robots is intuitive. They have easy-to-read displays and lights. The settings can also be easily customized and all cleaning functions are triggered at the touch of a button.
As the owner and managing director of the Kärcher Store Kohn, Ms. Kohn has many years of experience in the field of cleaning. Her expertise on the subject of Kärcher is also virtually unsurpassed. Whether it's for large cleaning projects or smaller projects in a private setting - Ms. Kohn knows the right device for every task. In an interview, she reveals her views on the current topic of fully autonomous cleaning.
INTERVIEW WITH MRS. KOHN ABOUT FULLY AUTONOMOUS CLEANING MACHINES
How advanced is the technology behind fully autonomous cleaning machines at the moment, and what main functions do they already offer?
Ms. Kohn: The technology behind fully autonomous cleaning machines is actually very advanced. Although Kärcher entered the market later than some of its competitors, it attached great importance to ensuring that the sensor technology was fully developed and thoroughly tested. Currently, these machines mainly offer wet cleaning functions such as scrubbing and vacuuming.
What are the main advantages of fully autonomous cleaning machines compared to traditional, manually operated machines?
Ms. Kohn: The main advantages are the independence from personnel. Difficulties such as staff recruitment, sickness absence and vacation time are eliminated. Cleaning can also be carried out at any time, day or night. Cleaning protocols enable precise documentation of every cleaning process. In the event of a machine failure, a new machine can also be quickly trained.
How is safety ensured when using fully autonomous cleaning machines?
Ms. Kohn: Safety is ensured by a sophisticated multi-sensor system that originally comes from the automotive industry and has been certified for public access. Thanks to internal software, the appliance can learn and adapt quickly.
To what extent do fully autonomous cleaning machines contribute to more environmentally friendly cleaning?
Ms Kohn: More environmentally friendly cleaning is made possible by greater efficiency and optimized cleaning routes. Over- and underdosing of water and cleaning agents is virtually eliminated, which significantly reduces the consumption of water, cleaning agents and energy.
How adaptable are these machines to different cleaning environments and tasks?
Ms. Kohn: The machines are very adaptable thanks to the support and learning from people. Thanks to their large memory capacities, they are prepared for many different situations.
Is manual cleaning still necessary at all?
Ms. Kohn: Yes, manual cleaning is still necessary. Fully autonomous machines primarily cover maintenance cleaning. Although basic cleaning is possible, it has to be specially programmed. In addition, there are always peripheral areas that cannot be reached.
What developments or innovations do you expect in the near future in the field of fully autonomous cleaning technologies?
Ms. Kohn: In the near future, we expect developments in areas such as carpet cleaning and indoor and outdoor sweeping. There will also be machines for smaller and larger areas. Artificial intelligence (AI) will play an important role in networking individual machines.
What is the current market acceptance for this type of technology?
Ms. Kohn: We are seeing a great response and interest, partly out of curiosity. There is a clear willingness to invest, combined with a desire for change. This is closely linked to the issues of staff shortages and the efficient use of resources.
